Lag in screen

My droid will lag when I want to end a call or listen to messages. It is hard to explain but here we go...

When I want to end a call and lower the phone from my ear the screen stays black and I can not press end call. The same when listening to my messages. Lower the phone to type in the password and it stays black, I lift the phone up and back down 2-3 times and then the screen comes to. Anyone else experience this? It annoys the heck out of me.

Great 1st post. Did you look anywhere for a similar issue? Its everywhere on here. Have a look around.
