Hey, everyone!
Just a few days ago I bought the Droid IV and I have this problem that I'd like to either fix permanently or otherwise exchange the phone while I'm still within the time allowed for returns/exchanges at Verizon.
The landscape and portrait orientation seems to work just fine -- except when I turn off the screen, it being on landscape mode, because even if I wake it up on portrait, it will stay in landscape. (The other way works normally; it's only this one way it fails to switch on its own.)
When the screen remains in landscape like that, although I wake it up in portrait, I can "fix it" by just tilting it to landscape then back to portrait again and the orientation will work normally again.
I wonder if there's a cure for this that anyone will please share. I'd really appreciate it.
Rocky
P.S. I rooted and hotspotted the phone relatively soon after buying it, seemingly without any problems; but I don't remember if the problem existed before I did that.
P.P.S. I'm sorry if this thread doesn't belong here.
