Landscape view problem

My Droid X seems to like the landscape view. Its rather annoying when I dont want to use Landscape. When I click into my mail, the screen goes right to landscape. I unchecked "Landscape" in the settings but I dont want everything non landscape.. Any ideas of what is happening?

My wife droid has the same problem.

Mine does not.

I've checked all the settings, auto rotate is set, "use landscape" is not checked. She's very annoyed with this phone, and ready to return it.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks

OK, just fixed it.

Go to the Settings, Display and at the bottom select "G-Sensor calibration".

That fixed hers.

You must not be on a dx. That setting doesn't exist in our display setting.

Op, you could try running the compass calibration. I notice mine is a little but sensitive to the right landscape side but not really anything to speak of....mostly if it is sitting flat. Either way, if the issue is so egregious that it makes you want to return it, you'd probably better do so. I mean...does the phone just not sit right?
