Latest Market

So I tried flashing the latest market last night (right before bed of course) and what a mistake. It forced closed no matter what I tried to fix it...I eventually had to resort to a old backup.

Is there a way to get the newest market AND have it so it actually updates itself like it would in stock?

I do not care about a themed version, I just want the latest market (and other apps) to update easily.

But just out of curiosity, why do you need the latest market?
Are there any new useful features?

Not sure, that's why I want it without jumping through hoops. Last night cost me valuable sleeping time
