LBS Cheating?

I've been using a few location based apps such as NDrive, Color, and Sherpa. They each provide services based upon your GPS coordinates. NDrive lets you navigate and check in on Foursquare, Sherpa offers cupons etc.

My questions is: it possible to manufacture a GPS signal? Can i have my chip speak with these apps telling them I am somewhere im not? To use foursquare or get cupons in a different location then I am.

Any insight would be appreciated. Cheers.

Um. You get imaginary badges...

Okay; let's put a more saucey situation on the chop block.

Let's say you change your GPS location and wish to make an emergency phone call. Cause a ruckus to say the least. Or if you want to prove an alibi in court by accessing your GPS located phone (switched) There are many applciaitons.

Altering your gps to give yourself an alibi in court sounds like a bad idea.....

It's not for me it's for a friend......lol

No I am just exploring what altering the GPS signal could possibly do in applications, emergency situations, advertising etc.
