Engadget was able to get hold of some pics of a new Lenovo 5-inch Android tablet. The tab will initially come out in China as part of the LePad branding lineup, but will likely be called the IdeaTab here in the States to differentiate it from the IdeaPad lineup. Here's what they revealed about the specs:
  • 5-Inch Display
  • Unspecified Dual-Core Processor
  • A micro-USB port
  • HDMI output
  • Front-facing camera
They didn't know which Android OS it was likely to have, and they also had no idea of pricing or time-frame of launch. Why make such a small device that is not also a phone? Share your thoughts. There are some more pics at the source link below.

1) I would still consider a 5" tablet and a dumb phone to save money on no data plan. There are probably many who would consider this.
2) I can carry a 5" tablet in my pocket, but not a 7" one.

Hopefully this will have better resolution than 800x480, like the Samsung Galaxy 5.0 MP3 player/tablet. At least 960x540 and hopefully 1280x720.

I think the market for this is very small. With smartphones approaching 5" screen size I don't think a tablet under 7" is going to sell very well.
