It looks like Lenovo is trying to make some headway in the affordably priced Android tablet market. At IFA this morning they revealed their newest product, the Tab S8. It's priced at only $199, yet comes packed with some decent specs. Here's the skinny,
  • 8-inch 1920x1200 display - One Glass Solution touch-panel technology provides a crystal clear viewing experience
  • Intel Atom Z3745 Processor with Intel® Burst Performance Technology - dynamically matches processing power to maximize battery life - 64-bit compatible
  • 2GB of RAM
  • Ultra-slim bezel seamlessly merges the screen with the dark front panel
  • Front-facing 1.6-megapixel HD camera for video chatting
  • 8-megapixel rear-facing camera - includes wide aperture f2.2 lens
  • Thin and light design - just 0.65 pounds and 0.31 inches thin (nearly as thin as a standard pencil)
  • Optional high-speed LTE (4G) connectivity (based on Intel® XMMTM 7160) Plus WiFi
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • 16GB of storage
  • Bluetooth 4.0 and Dolby®-enhanced dual front speakers
That's a very impressive array distinctive features and styling for such an affordable price.

The Lenovo TAB S8 will be available beginning in September with models starting at $199 via major retailers and www.lenovo.com.

I agree the price rocks. I have the original N7 and will update when something I really like comes along. I just hope the tablet makers that include a 64 bit chip will start using at least 4gb internal memory. Currently best reason to have it. 32bit is limited to about 3gb More internal memory will give the vendors more room to add useless apps! Also come on - 16gb program memory? So last year.
