Samsung has the iris scanner for their latest Note and S series lineup of phones. LG has innovated security in their own way. While they don't have an iris scanner on the LG V30 they do have super fast face lock, and "Voice Print" unlock. The face lock has several different options including an Advanced mode that allows you to tweak it so that it won't just easily unlock with a photo. You can also train it to unlock faster by using your face to unlock multiple times.

With Voice Print you can use any phrase you like. To set up this feature just repeat your chosen phrase 4 times for the phone. You can set this feature to either unlock your phone or just wake the screen. This would be great for those that use Google assistant as you could say "OK Google" to unlock your phone and launch the assistant. These new security features are just another notch in the V30 belt. I will more than likely still use the fingerprint scanner as my go to. It is just the most natural for me.

I think they are starting to get too fancy with all the different ways to unlock the phone. I think I will stick with fingerprint myself.

Is this different than the built in Android Trusted Voice?

So it sounds very similar to Moto Voice, I have been able to use my own custom launch phrase for a few years now.

note to myself, start proofreading my posts :-(

I could never really understand the voice unlocking because it seems so unsecured.
