LG K7 system settings question

LG K7 running lollipop, on metro PCS.
Does anybody know what this shortcut key setting is for?
I've turned it on and off, looking thru the phone to see what it controls, and i can't seem to find anything.
Not really a big deal, I'm just curious.

I could be mistaken, but when turned On and you have a lock screen enabled (Pattern, PIN, etc.) it will allow two things when the screen is locked:

Double-tap the volume down key to launch straight into the camera app. By default, with the "Quick shot" feature enabled, this will also immediately take a photo when the app loads.

Double-tap the volume up key to launch the memo note-taking app, and draw or write a new note.
