Here's a new rumor we wouldn't necessarily put much stock in, but it's not completely outside the realm of possibility so here it is. Supposedly, LG may be planning to ditch their G Pro series of phones. The intel from within LG indicates that LG's new new management team decided to scrap the line, in favor of focusing on their next flagship, the G4.

One of the main reasons we are a bit skeptical of this news is that this would be the opposite direction that every other manufacturer is going. Apple, Google, HTC, Motorola and Samsung have all started cranking out bigger and bigger devices. Why would LG bow out of the largest emerging market for smartphones?

The other possibility is that they will only be dumping the G Pro branding, but will still push the larger screen sizes on the G series. We will keep an eye out for more intel on the G4 and report back to you!

Doesn't make sense.. But. Moto dropped back for a few years.. It seems as they rethought that??

Lg has been having mixed results though.. The g3 was hit for em.. Even with a dim screen..

I guess it's a good business strategy, although I do not know the sale numbers of the Pro series vs competitors. Hopefully they don't do a HTC and try to say the are only going to have one 'hero' phone then turn around and have a field day in every market.

Is this the same management team that had to dispel the rumor that the company was going to dump its entire effort in the handset market right after the G2 numbers started showing they'd hit a home run?
They will need more than a G series if they want to stay relevant in the global market. Not everyone wants a flagship model.
