LG is going big with flexible OLED display tech starting this year. According to the latest scuttlebutt, LG will be showing off a rollable newspaper-like 18-inch display at CES 2016 this week. The insider info indicates that this working prototype isn't necessarily the direction that LG plans to go in the near future, but is simply a way to push the envelope further on the technology.

Initially, LG is working toward making these flex displays available for smartphones and other devices. One of the other projects they plan to share is a 25-inch curved screen for inside an automobile. Here at HQ, we are looking forward to seeing some of the exciting new tech that will be revealed by LG and other OEMs at CES this year.

Maybe LG doesn't plan on making OLED newspapers anytime soon for commercial use, but we can envision a future which does include them in some way. What do you folks think?

I for one can't wait to finally see a WORKING prototype. We've been being teased with flexible displays for what--3 years now?

LG will show a 55" paper thin TV at CES as well..

They also have the first production ready 8K TV.

8K is enough for LG's 98-inch TV:
LG, doing their best to stay on top of the tech food chain!

4k, 8k? And here I am with my 120mHz LCD. Geesh.

How long until someone smacks the dog with the newspaper and smashes it?

That's awesome! I was reading last night that Netflix is expanding to 120 more countries this month making their total coverage to something like 190 countries. Incredible.
Buy your Netflix stock now! It already went up 6 points yesterday.
