The new LG Watch Urbane LTE is LG's latest smartwatch designed to take wearables to the next level. While the device is technically not an Android Wear product, it's still a startling innovation in this field.

The Urbane LTE will actually let you place and receive phone calls and browse the web with its LTE data connection. It sports its own SIM card in order to facilitate this. The device will go on sale in South Korea starting tomorrow (March 27th). It will be available for 650,000 KRW ($590). Here's a refresher on specs:
  • 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • Circular 1.3 inches OLED display
  • 1GB LPDDR3
  • 4GB eMMC internal storage
  • 9-axis (gyro / acceleration / compass)
  • Barometric pressure sensor
  • Heart rate sensor
  • GPS, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth
  • 700mAh battery
  • Comes in silver color
There's currently no word on International availability, but we will keep you apprised if/when that changes.

I wonder where LG is going with this device. You don't need to pair it with a phone for it to work, but you can be via BT. You don't even need a phone as this does it all.
There are many that just don't use their phones very often. Perhaps there is a market for those who rather have their phone on their wrist who can do without a traditional Smartphone.. Just thinking out loud here.

At $350, I think they might sell a lot. Something to replace your phone (IF you use a headest)?!?!? At the near price of an actual phone? #fail...
