You will need astro manager to unzip it.

I downloaded it to my phone astro wont extract it. Does the file need to be in a specific place? Astro says it wont extract.

Open astro locate download file,once there click on that file you will see the Z4 apk, click on it and it will say install. That's what I done.

I deleted the file and was going to re download but now it says the link is temporary unavailable

Just reporting Z4Root works great after the DX 221 update. (From 22 manually rooted factory rom to OTA 221.)

If you want root access, I suggest you don't upgrade your phone to GB. Ignore your phone messages about this upgrade.
