List of All Theaters Showing Sony's Limited Release of 'The Interview'

One of the big news stories of the past few weeks is the Sony hack heard round the world. The effects of this hack, and the subsequent threats from the hackers afterward, actually stopped Sony from offering a full release of the Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy film, "The Interview." You've probably heard/read all about it and the ensuing drama surrounding it, so we won't rehash any of that.

However, it turns out that Sony was actually talked into a limited release of the movie by a slew of independent theaters across the United States. We thought it would be useful to share the full list (courtesy of BGR) of those movie theaters in case you feel like seeing it. The full list is shown in the thread below. Enjoy!

Watching it now via Chromecast. I must say that before I had no desire to watch the movie as I felt it looked stupid. I grew tired of the Seth Rogen type comedy. But I will say the controversy had me decide to see what the hype was about. Heck this controversy actually helped the movie vs hurt it.

As I thought, it was the typical Seth Rogen movie so you know what you going to get. It is a decent comedy and honestly at $5 to $6 a good sit down Chromecast movie at the house. Not saying a company getting hacked is ever good but if anything good came out of it it was Sony releasing this straight to streaming. No way this movie over the holidays without the controversy would have held up to the Hobbit, Night of the Museum 3, or Unbroken. For one if the family is going out together they are definitely not taking the kids to see a Seth Rogen film and the Christmas holiday is the one time the entire family head to the movie so mostly family oriented films are taking the box offices. And even if mom and dad leave the kids with the grands to watch a late night, more adult oriented movie, most are going to gravitate to Unbroken which still leave The Interview out in the cold. Really this movie would have looked bad in the box office in my opinion but now they have a chance to capitalize off the free advertisement which is fine good way to turn a bad situation good. But if you plan or had planned on watching this film I say pay the $6 and catch it on Youtube or Chromecast. A great $5 movie but not so much for a $12 movie (or whatever your theater charges for admission).
