location?

My company just switched to Verizon and we got droids. My boss loves to sit in the office and GPS locate us on his computer all day. Is there an app or hack out there that blocks this?

Well, if you block this so your boss can't find you, what do you think he's going to say? However, I think it within your right to block this on your off hours. Disabling GPS may or may not do the trick. I'm guessing you have to find what app he's using and then figure out how to circumvent it (since WiFi and 3G can both locate you).

I mentioned the other day this presents huge potential cost savings to companies currently paying hundreds/thousands of dollars per truck for multiple services/hardward to do the same thing the Droid can do.

You might also want to check with management. I know the organization I work for would consider doing this a violation of company policy, and could result in my termination.

Under privacy settings you can change quite a few things as well as hide your locations
You can also set up a false location anywhere on the map.

Not sure I would do this if this is a company phone.

Good luck,

D

The software he uses is whatever verizon supplies. I think it is web-based. It sucks when you are performing excellently at your job but the boss is so paranoid that he is constantly watching. Whether Im sitting in a customers office or in a starbucks...as long as I am making money it shouldnt matter where I am!

How do I select this false location?

my friends dad had this on their company... it was funny, he could sit in his office with a big screen in front of him and see the whole area they cover for products, and see exactly where every vehicle was, AND speed traveling... i don't think its right, but only to do it during the hours clocked in, or on the job, then yes, do it, but off the clock, its our time to do what we want

As long as he's paying you, It does matter to Him where you are.

False location, That is grounds for being terminated at my company.
