Lock screen

Hi everybody I'm pretty new at this and I don't know exactly what I'm doing. I just had a quick question. I just got a galaxy s5 the other day from an iPhone and so far I'm loving it. I just had one question. I have a pin on my lock screen because I'm used to having one on my old iPhone. I accidently put in the wrong one and it told me if I put in a wrong pin 8 more times on the 9th it will reset and go back to factory settings and I will loose all my user data. Is there a way to turn this off? I don't want someone trying to mess with me and give them the ability to erase my entire phone. Thank you for any help

Welcome to the forum Steven & congrats on your new device. [emoji106] I don't know of a way to disable this feature. It's there to prevent someone from trying to gain access to your device & personal information. If someone would do something like this on purpose, just to "mess with you" that's a whole other issue you should probably address with your friends or whoever has access to your phone. Personally nobody touches my device except my wife and even she has the common courtesy to ask me first. (Just my 2 cents of course)
Enjoy your new Android and if there's anything else we can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask. [emoji2]
