lock text messages

is there a way on the droid 2 to lock text messages without installing an app?

Long press the message and you should see a menu come up with that option.

Are you using Handcent or stock messaging?

Yea download handcent it's a message app works a lot better than the stock one and you can lock the messages by holding them down with it...that's what most use on here
