Lock your phone - even when it rings?

I have a Droid Incredible - and I want to lock/secure my phone in case I lose it my data/info cannot be retrieved by anyone who may find it. I know there is a password lock in the settings - but really this is useless... I tried it - on the surface it seems like it would work... BUT - once a call comes in and you answer the call, you can access all the data in the phone while your on the call... I don't think this is very secure? Is there a way to lock the phone even to answer? Or is there an app that will allow you to lock your phone?

I'm not quite sure at what you're getting at. Phone has to be unlocked when you are on a call. By what means would someone be able to access the data on your phone? Your mail should be secured by gmail. I guess I just don't see how its possible to hack a linux based phone. I thought the security lock down was just to keep someone from picking up your phone and using it.

Yes, I understand the phone has to be unlocked to take a call... BUT i want to be the one to unlock it... unless I'm missing a setting, if it rings anyone can pick it up and answer... and that's really not so bad - But, what is bad is while you ( or whoever finds your phone) is on the call, they can access your data. - and unless you just have no friends that call you - your phone is going to ring and when it does - they can access your phone, without the password. I would like A). either to have the phone only to be able to be answered and nothing else. Or B). Have it locked out completely so if someone finds or steals my phone they cannot use/access it.

I see. The same situation exist also when you have an alarm that goes off. Immediately after shutting the alarm off the phone stays totally on and anyone can access it. So if you left your phone on your desk and got up and walked away and the alarm went off, anyone who passed by could pick it up, kill your alarm and have complete access to the phone.

Now as far as locking out someone who steals your phone, Verizon is offering a new service that I believe handles that. Check it out here: Verizon Wireless introduces Mobile Recovery app - Know Your Cell

I personally use Mobil Defense, however that is in beta testing and has been for some time. Not available to everyone yet.
