Motorola has done an excellent job in recent years of keeping their devices up to date. They are quicker to the punch than ever these days. The 2nd Gen Moto X began receiving its Lollipop soak test last week, and now the 2nd Gen Moto G is now receiving the same treatment. Soak tests are normally a good indication that an official build is nearly ready. The release notes for this build have also been posted by Motorola so you can see exactly what changes are coming to the Moto G 2nd Gen in the Lollipop update. Being that this is a soak test build it won't be available to everyone. Its only available to those of you who are currently a part of the soak test team. However it is highly likely that someone will eventually pull the update and make it available for everyone else.

According to the release notes this build brings Lollipop features like Material Design (new colorful look and feel, fluid animations, new app and system themes, colors and widgets), Notifications UI and Priorities (the format and behavior of notifications have evolved), New Interruptions and Downtime settings, Updates to Recent apps and multitasking, ambient display, motorola assist and downtime, Flashlight, Share your device (you can now set up multiple user accounts on your phone), Pin and view app (pin an app to keep it in view ie pin a game and your child won't be able to navigate anywhere else on your phone), Battery (battery panel shows estimated projections for how much time is left until battery depletes, you can also enable a battery saving mode), Smarter internet connections, Performance, Smart Lock, and Security enhancements.
