Android 5.1 Lollipop has already rolled out to the first generation Moto X on multiple carriers, but the big hold out has been Big Red. Luckily, that is about to change. A soak test just started for Lollipop for the OG Moto X on Verizon. The update will be a 712MB file, and put users on version 222.26.7.

Stay tuned and we will let you know when the final, official update starts pushing out, after the soak test finishes.

Good news! So, in preparation, do I FDR before the update? Or after? Or both?

So it looks like it's official and rolling out to everyone. Awesome.

My phone is updating right now. I'm posting this from my tablet.

I've heard some have had issues with the phone getting hot when it was updating and charging at the same time. Keep an eye on your phone temps. Mine is sitting on a cloth ice pack as it updates and charges.

I plan on doing so after the update finishes.

I may do it. I'm going to wait and see. I know I'd be better off doing it but it's such a pain.

I agree, I haven't done it yet because I'm at work. Transitions are a little jittery at times but otherwise no issues yet. My phone got a little hot too but I didn't think it was too bad.

on the move..

So far everything is smooth and running very nice. I don't see a need for an FDR at this point.

That's the thing with major OS updates like this....(especially with Lollipop) more often than not, issues won't pop up until days or even weeks later.

You're right, I've seen many people hold off at first but eventually they need to. I always like to anyway when jumping to another OS version.

Agreed, but I'm still going to wait and see. And now is not a good time anyway. I want to have a few hours to myself to set everything back up.
