The Blackberry has an app called Color ID which allows you assign customize LED colors to specific contacts. I use this for when my Hubby or Mom call or text me? Along with my siblings and cousins. Does the Droid have a similar app?

Handcent SMS allows you to customize almost everything, the color of the led, and way more it should do what your looking for.

Try "Missed Call" as well. I don't like it, but some people find it useful.
