So I was at my friends house today, we were talking about my buying a new case. I got one for Christmas and immediately dropped the phone a few days later. Though it was expensive, a few falls and the top of it broke off permanently. Sadly, I now have the bottom and thats it. He told me as he looked at my phone that the screen part is really loose, in his opinion of course, and also that my Menu button is differently colored than the rest of my buttons on the screen.

My question is, should I be concerned? The Droid still works perfectly except for a little slowdown once in awhile but Im sure thats the phone. The screen slides out perfectly as well, though Im sure it is looser. He also has a very sturdy case on his that would take any space between the screen and keyboard if there was any. Im waiting for a new case in the mail right now, its a cheap one but itll do until I can afford another really decent one.

Screen as in... the top part of the phone or the glass?

I'm going on the guess you mean the top part of the phone.

You are right, some cases hold the screen in tighter to bottom of the phone, also when the phones were shipped there was a piece of plastic between the pieces of the phone; some people ripped it off, for others over time it wore down/off. I think that film in between the two pieces helped keep the slide tight, if you didn't have a case doing the same thing.

I've recently started going naked on my phone since my case also broke and have noticed the more I slide it in and out(ha), the more that plastic in between the pieces wears down and I do notice a looser slide.

My mistake, I meant the top part. Yeah, my plastic part is off now, it wore down to nothing and I had to pull the rest off. I use the keyboard alot, I cant stand the virtual one.

I actually took it to a Verizon store recently and they told me it was fine, my own mother told me it was fine, but none of them have a Droid and also, Verizon associates have been known to not know a thing about it. Then again, maybe Im just paranoid.

No, you're not paranoid. Mine has the faintest jiggle, but there has been a couple threads on this forum alone about this exact thing. :)
