Lost photos off Incredible

Ok so long story short I had to factory reset my incredible. Having had a blackberry before I was used to the photos defaulting to the sd storage. It wasn't until after I reset that I realized all of my pictures were gone :'(. Is there anyway to retrieve them off the phone after a hard wipe? I know they were not on the sd card because I pulled it before the wipe (because that's where I thought the pics were stored-I wanted to make sure they weren't accidentally deleted...lot of good that did me...)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Not too familiar with the incredible but it should have a option to change the save folder destination for photos, as for your question however if they were on the phone when you performed the hard wipe they are permanently gone.
