Making a Java Applet into an Android Application

Hello, I am not an Android developer. I do however, know the java language. I have a JApplet that I wish to make into an Android application. Not to sell on the market or anything, just for my own use really. Is there a simple way to do this? I've tried reading up on this stuff and honestly it seems pretty complex and I do not want to devote that much time to learning how. I'm confused about all of the XML stuff and the "R" class and what not. So...how should I go about doing this?

Fist off, you should go to Android.com then you should find videos and all the instructions you need there.

I had prior Java and eclipse experience, and getting my first Android apk deployed on my DroidX was fairly easy.

Try that with an iPhone :^)
