USA Today reports of a malware, known as Googlian, that has affected 1M android devices. This app is delivered by installing apps from an unapproved source (3rd party).

Majority of the phones that have been hit were devices running older android software as we have not seen any reports from Google of devices running the latest software and/or security patch that has been affected.

If you are on the latest software and security update then you should be ok, but keep in mind to only install apps from an approved source (ie Google Play Store).

The last sentence says it all pc747...only install apps from official play stores.

From what I read yesterday this is plaguing countries (like China) that don't have the official Google Play Store, so folks use unofficial play store apps as their source. I don't believe any phones running the official Play Store have been infected, could be wrong though?
