My wife and I like the personal tracking mode in Google Maps on the Droid. But it is often inaccurate as heck.

Instance #1: I am sitting at home right next to her and her phone says I'm a mile away while my phone has up right next to each other. Refreshing makes no difference.

Instance #2: The last position for her is dated an hour ago. I can't obtain more recent information. It won't refresh.

Howcum?

Does the phone being sought have to have maps and latitudes running? Are there other tings to be done? expecting too much? What?

I have had my wife's and mi phone in the car.
Both on to maps and tracking their location.
But neither one updated the other as to their position.
This is very frustrating

i have also found lattitude to be very inaccurate. my wife and i both have our phones set to display best location, yet she consistently shows as a half mile away. basicly useless for anything other than general location.

At least yours shows.
We drove all around and neither one EVER updated the other.
Her phone had no idea where mine was and mine had no idea about hers.

It's very rare when my location can be found on my Droid. Usually it'll locate and then stay at that location even when I'm 40+ miles away, and a day later.

I'm sort of beginning to think the Latitude is failed.

The Satellite icon in the task bar blinks, sort of like the GPS never connects.

Mine locates me fine, but never updates, or if it does it puts me 20 miles away on my wifes phone. and the same with hers.
Neither one of us can see the other move.
