Hi all my question is when I read an email on my phone through an app whether its Hotmail or Gmail how do I make it so it is marked as read on the email server because I areas the email through my phone app but if I access my email through a browser everything is unread and my Droid version is ginger bread

you should be able to check it on the left. Thats with using gmail that's the only email app I use.

I don't know about other programs but here is what you do with Google.

Open gmail
Open settings
Select tab "Forwarding and POP/IMAP
In step #1, select the first or second option depending on whether you want to sync right then or for all future events. I would recommend the first option and test it with old junk emails to see if it does what you want it to.
In step #2, use the pull down menu to select what you want Google to do. I have "mark Gmail's copy as read"
Save the Choices

When you do something on your phone, the same thing will happen on the Google server. So if you delete something on your phone, you also just deleted it off the server.

Hope that is what you wanted.
