As the title indicates, I'm looking for all members' top 10 lists of smartphone issues. These can be pet peeves, real issues with Android specifically, issues with smartphones in general, or issues with a particular smartphone. I'm looking for the issues you face regularly. Some examples are below for starters.

Ergonomics/handling;
These Issues could be based on the way the phone feels in the hand, or how it feels against the ear. Difficulties with how certain functions work (or don't work).
Battery; The issues with batteries can be concerns with how the charging process goes, difficulties, concerns with the time it takes to charge, how long the battery lasts you in a typical day, how these issues affect your daily routine, etc.
Maintenance; Anything that requires you to "do something" other than simply enjoy using the phone. This could be things such as having to reboot from a hanging OS, clearing the cache, being forced to stop certain processes or services to gain control, or it could be physical maintenance such as wiping the facial grease off the screen.
Traveling; How you interact with the phone while traveling away from your home area and the difficulties you run into as a result of that. Things such as roaming that isn't working right, lower speeds of 4G or 3G in other areas and how the phone responds, WIFI availability and the ability to or not to connect to hotspots.

What I'm looking for is an overall "Top Ten" list of your main issues with the phone, things that if resolved would make your phone user experience 10 fold better. I am not interested in issues specific to any particular to any software, this should be totally smartphone based issues that have nothing to do specifically with software other than the OS as it was installed from the factory.

So let your complaints and pet peeves land here...but remember to keep it "family friendly" with your complaints. This is meant to be a study and you are essentially test subjects. I want to get opinions, but no bashing of phones, manufacturers, or especially other members.

No front facing speakers on both phone's, 9.better call quality (n2), 10. Can't be heard while on speaker phone (n2).

Thank you xtor for trying to jump-start this thread. We do need some others participating to get the thread off the ground. :biggrin:

Well, one of my biggest annoyances with the DNA is the fact that if you are running a non-stock ROM that you audio issues. Specifically, speaker volume is very low, audio (music playback) is choppy, and Google Now won't pick up your voice if you have any background noise. In re: the SGS4 it would be that the battery charging frequencies are non-standard (this may actually be a Qi thing). Either way, it drives me crazy because it doesn't work as well (or at all) on other standard charging pads, such as Nokia, etc.

Thanks, Mandy for that valuable insight. The "Qi thing" is a big concern. If a phone is going to be wireless charging capable, it should be able to work with essentially all wireless charging pads. I think as time goes on, there will be smarter and smarter receiver systems for the phones, that perhaps can "navigate" the various charging frequencies and adapt them to their purpose on the fly. The one who creates that chip which can accomplish this will be a wealthy chip manufacturer indeed!
