Memory for apps

I haven't been able to get a straight answer from anyone or find the info anywhere. I do know the HTC TB comes with 768mb ram, 8gb on the phone and a 32gb SD. What I want to know is how much of the internal memory is allotted for the install of apps? Is it the full 8gb or just a portion?

The TB has about 2.5gb for app storage, so three times more than our Incs. Catch is, TB loses the 6.6gb of internal storage space. For whatever reason, HTC cut off 4gb of the 8gb internal (it is used for nothing apparently).

If the TB was mapped like the Inc, there would be 2.5gb for device storage and 5GB for media storage.
