Messing notifications.. please help

Hey can someone please help me I have a Droid incredible and the other day I was deleting a conversion with 1,000+ texts and someone sent me a text during the process(the same person) and now when someone sends me a text it says I have 2 messages but I can't go to the message that was unreadable because it got deleted. I could really use some help
