MicroSD Card Class vs Phone Speed

Although I can't seem to find it now, I could have sworn I read somewhere that someone traded their Class 2 sd card for a Class 6 and reported that the phone was quicker. I know the Android doesn't store the apps on the SD card, so I don't see how they could be effected.

Is there any truth to this or is it just bologna?

Unless there is something wrong with your SD card, it would have no real effect other than accessing movie, videos. Class 2 seems good enough for that purpose.

That kind of what I thought. So do you think a class 6 would effect the gallery and picture loading times as well?

Maybe only initially, or when viewing full size. Im not sure how the 2.0.1 gallery works, but the 2.1 gallery caches thumbnails of everything for it. So the first time opening, its hella slow, but once it caches everything its quite speedy in the future.
