The Motorola Milestone is now available unlocked at Buy.com. The downside is that it is not compatible with the 3G networks in North America, only Europe. If someone can afford it, one can buy the Milestone and get a service with any of the GSM carriers, and if they want to, could get a mobile wi-fi hotspot device such as the MiFi from Verizon Wireless to be able to use wi-fi connection with it.
