MMS - data or text?

First post, sorry if its been covered, but I can't find the answer:

I have a droid razr maxx on the verizon network. If I send and receive group messages, would that be using texts or data? I think it's data usage, but if that's the case, would texts sent and received show up under text history on Verizon's website for usage history? Thanks.

MMS is sent as data and not messaging. Not sure how they would appear though.
