MMS Problem, but I have a fix?

So I'm texting back and forth with someone who wants to buy my paintball marker and I went to send him a picture and nothing went through.
The method I used was while in the messaging browser, I hit the menu button, take picture, took the picture, it'll ask to resize, yes, and from there I have the message window with a little photo button in the bottom left. I hit send and nothing happens. It doesn't show it in the message list, it doesn't do anything.

However, I did find out if I went to my gallery, selected the picture, share, text messaging, it went out just fine. Going back into the messaging app' it shows the picture in the list.

Anyone else experience this?

odd my wife's droid 1 has the exact opposite happen.. if she inserts the pic while in the text message thread it will resize upload and I will receive it. But, if she goes into gallery>menu>handcent> and sends that way, it shows in the thread that its uploaded but I never get it.
