mobile hotspot and wireless router

Kind of off the subject I guess but ill throw it out there. I had a netgear wireless router hooked up to my local phone service modem for my internet on my laptop and stuff but now ive got the mobile hotspot on my fascinate. Is there a way I can run my router without the modem strait to my desktop so I can use my hotspot on the desktop. Little confused!!!!!!!! Thanks

Im using a netgear wireless usb to run my desktop from my phones hotspot, $40@ best buy. Or if you dont mind plugging your phone into the pc via usb, theres a free app called pda net you can use. One thing, you need a real good signal for either of these to work well.
