mobile hotspot settings save issues

when the hotspot is not active, the settings option is not available. when it is active, and i attempt to change the settings (such as ssid, pass, etc) there is no save option. perhaps i should say, it is there, but not clickable. it is grayed out and not interactive. i am stuck with the default mobile hotspot settings.

droid razr maxx, jellybean, rooted, entitlement hack.

help please?

also, i used the razr blade root method if that helps at all.
