Check out this hot smartwatch news! The Moto 360 2nd Gen (codenamed Nero?), has just appeared on Amazon Italy's website. The device will apparently sell for 299.99 Euro. We will have to wait and see what the price will be in the US. Here's the spec-list for the new Motorola wearable:
  • Android Wear, CPU Quad Core 1.2GHz, GPU Adreno 305
  • Display 1.37" (360x326 - 263ppi), Gorilla glass 3, IP67 water proof (30min @1m)
  • RAM 512MB, ROM 4GB, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, batteria 300 mAh, Wireless charging
What do you folks think? Will this new Moto 360 differentiate itself enough from the first gen, or do we need fancier features?

Thanks for the tip, @gadgetrants!

Too bad the Italian listing is sparse on details. Just sketchy enough -- e.g., why aren't other Amazon sites listing it? -- that I hope it's not an "accidental" listing that will vanish soon. It's all over the Italian tech news, but otherwise there's no sign of the Sport showing up elsewhere...

Anyway, I think we can assume at this point that if it's showing up for 299 EUR it'll almost surely list at 299 USD. Maybe less in fact (though not likely) since the European version has both the invisible "import" tax plus the not-so-hidden value-added tax already included.

At today's trading a Euro is about $1.12 American.
If they do like in the past it'll probably retail here for about $249.99 to start with.

Must be coming to the u.s. soon. Amazon has got 360's discounted to $149.00

I see them for sale in the Google store. What am I missing?

I have to wait for my 6p cause the room on my note is 4.1

The sport model hasn't been released yet, they do have a smaller version of the regular 360, but that isn't the sport.

I'm in the market for a smartwatch as well, and probably should get a sport model since I'll mostly use it at work, but none of the sport models available right now interest me. I'm really liking the Huawei Watch..

Huawei watch is nice... I like that mesh band model... But I've got the original Moto with 3 bands.. So I'm wanting to go sport
