Hello: First post here...
I don't know where else to turn for help with this issue. Motorola tech support has been nice, but I feel we're nowhere near solving this.
I got the Motonav TN765 because I absolutely need to be able to make a call using voice commands and also needed error-free access to GPS while talking on the phone, and I'm happy to report it works beautifully - I can now make true hands-free calls while driving! Literally a life saver!!
Problem: There is a feature on the Motonav that should display incoming text messages on the bottom the Motonav screen and should read those aloud and allow the driver to create a return text using voice only. The 2 devices work perfectly together in every regard including sync'ing contacts, recent calls, etc but there is no communication between the 2 when it comes to Messaging. The on-screen button on the Motonav labelled "Messaging" is greyed out and does not function. I now have my second Motonav because of the issue, so I think it may be a universal TN765 problem or it's a Motodroid issue. You'd think that the 2 most expensive, top-of-the-line phone and navigation devices from the same manufacturer would talk to each other better.
I've googled the heck out of this and found nothing, which isn't all that surprising as the TN765 was just released. Maybe it's a new-release bug issue...
I'll be away from computer access for the next week so won't be able to respond immediately, but would greatly appreciate any ideas out there.
I really appreciate this forum and the depth of techno-wisdom gathered here.
Thanks,
Mike
