The Moto X is finally launching in Australia, but those amazing folks "down under" might not have much to celebrate about. The device will sell for a whopping off-contract price of $549 ($500 USD converted), and does not include Moto Maker customizations at all. While the exchange rate and different currency scaling can account for some of that apparently large price for the device, it is hard to surmount the fact that the Moto X was launched 8 months ago, which makes this a bit less of a value than it is the United States.
It's also disappointing that it won't include the Moto Maker customizations. Of course, despite its age, it is still a magnificent and capable device. More than likely it will be showing up on Telstra, Optus and Vodafone. Right now it is only listed as "coming soon," but we will share more as more details emerge.
