Moto Z Play Will Receive Nougat In March

While both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force have already received their updates to Nougat the Moto Z Play is still waiting on the sidelines to joing the fun. Motorola has not given any confirmation as to when they plan on releasing the update however Koodo Mobile has just dropped a hint honing in on the release date for this update. They are reporting that the device will receive the update on March 4th. We will see a security patch update on January 21st ahead of the Nougat update.

I actually think that Motorola has a contract with Verizon to deliver nougat to all US / unlocked phones at least 3 months after Verizon gets it. That's the only sane explanation I've come up with that describes the sad state of nougat on unlocked z and z play phones. At least the marshmallow stock ROM is reliable and fast, otherwise I would have returned this phone already.

Some new rumors point to the end of January. Kind of proves that no one really knows for sure until the day it hits their phone. [emoji41]
