In the video below we see the Moto Z2 Play in an unboxing. The phone comes loaded with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. This video also shows that the phone will come with a 3000mah battery. Earlier leaks had mentioned a 2820mah battery. The phone also features a 5.5" FHD display and Moto Mods make a return with this device as well. Overall this is a pretty intriguing device.
Looks like they added a small lip / ridge all around the back, or recessed the back into the frame a little more. Probably to help keep the heavier Moto Mods more securely in place. Some folks claim that they "slide" around just a little, so an extra lip would help keep them from moving around.
Monster Drop in Battery Size from the 3510mAh Battery in the Original Moto Z Play. Wonder how that will Play out. That may disappoint some since that was a selling point for the 1st the 50hr Battery life.
As much to take the first version given the little evolution and especially the fact of having a smaller battery!

Here is some new info from the Moto blog. Looks like the initial US release of the Z2 Play will be the Droid model on Verizon only; then the unlocked model later this year. I bet the same will happen with the Z2 Force when it is announced.
Moto Z² Play will be available in Brazil today starting at R$ 1,999, and will rollout globally starting this month. In the U.S., Moto Z² Play will be available exclusively on Verizon and will be available on Motorola.com later this summer for $499 USD.
