Motorola Droid Stock, opens wrong app

After extensive searching, I have seen others have this problem but have not seen a solution. Frequently, i will select an app from the home screen such as messaging (stock app) and it will open another, such as Maps. It seems to happen mostly with messaging but that's probably because I use it the most. the app that opens (incorrectly) is always an app that I have used recently. Using Advanced Task Killer does not help. I have to power the phone off, and most of the time that fixes it....for a while, and then back to the same problem...Rescue me please?

Get rid of any and all task killers. That should help. And sometimes even though I have followed my solution to you I still have the same thing happen. Just gotta make sure of your screen press, or at least I do.
