Yet that is....this is what I stumbled upon... from informationweek.com
Earlier this week, Motorola's official Facebook page appeared to confirm that the company was planning to push Android 2.1 out to the Droid as early as this week. Turns out Motorola's Facebook staff was a bit premature.

In an email, Motorola spokesperson Juli Burda said to InformationWeek, "The Droid over-the-air software upgrade is expected to rollout soon. It will automatically be pushed to phones when ready and Verizon Wireless customers will only have to accept the free download for continued use and enjoyment of this feature packed device."
In other words, be patient for just a little while longer, Droid users.

- Don't fret, Android 2.1 is still headed to the Motorola Droid, just not this week. The original Facebook post said this:
Hi all-- we know you are frustrated with the lack of details regarding Android software upgrades and we sincerely apologize for not being able to share info sooner. We're happy to relay the 2.1 upgrade to DROID will start to roll out this week, and we will have more information to share on other device upgrades later this week as well. Thanks for your patience and continued support.
Whoever posted that on Motorola's Facebook page apparently jumped the gun.
