Moving contacts between groups

Hi, I have a Droid 2 Global and have created multiple contacts inside of different groups. However, I do not see a way to do these two things easily:

- Delete a contact from the Group. The only way to do this is to delete the contact from ALL my address books, which I don't want.
- Move a contact from one group to another.

Can someone help me do this?
Regards,

I don't have a Droid 2 Global, but I'm guessing it's using the Contacts List from Gmail? If more management is need I'd suggest you log into Gmail.

group editing (moving contacts between groups)

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. However, the issue is that I've created brand new groups, one called "work", one called "family", one called "friends", and added contacts to these groups. I'd like to move one contact from "friends" to "work". Does that make sense? I do have a gmail account but I don't see an issue with it, at least as far as I can tell :-)

When you want "to move one contact from "friends" to "work". Do the following:
In you gmail account (from your computer):
1. Open your contact in "friends" and add that friend to your "work" group. (In the Groups tab and place a check on the work line.) The friend will be in two groups now.
2. While still in edit mode with that contact (Click on the friends box and then scroll down and click remove from this group.)

The contact will now be grouped in work only.

Thank you! I problem was that I was trying to do this from my phone, instead of from my Gmail account on my computer :-)

Can the adding groups to an existing contact or moving contacts between groups be done on the Droid platform itself? Or is gmail web required (or Microsoft outlook via Companionlink for example?)

Welcome to the forum! Glad you got your contact issue resolved!

I think you can change groups via the phone (at least my gNex gives me that option under the People app) but it is sync'd with Google as well.
