Welcome to the forum

There are a few Contact Backup apps ion the Google Store, (this assumes you want to go beyond what Google will sync back to the 2). This app is working well for me and should do the trick. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.uia.android.backupcontacts

Whatever you need to transfer can be done over your local WiFi. Check the transferring files link in my signature below. There are quite a few suggestions in that link.

Not being able to connect to a computer via USDB is actually something I continue to see over and over and usually points to an issue with the computer, not the phone. Samsung is one of a very few companies that actually provide (Samsung) device specific USB drivers but they still may not work, especially if your Ace did.

The app gets install on your phone. The paid version can save the contacts to a DropBox account or external SD card. I have a link below in my signature that suggests methods for transferring files, incluyding the app suggested by Smalltowngirl.

The easiest thing to do as Smalltowngirl suggested is to have the contacts sync with Google.
