Moving from VZW Wireless Sync

I have been using Wireless Sync from Verizon for the last 5 years, first on a MotoQ, and lately on a Samsung Saga. It worked seemlessly as we have Outlook on the desktop without Exchange, using POP email. Since Nokia is turning off the service on 12/31, I need to move to a different phone. Are there options with the droid that will work the same way, meaning push technology syncing desktop and mobile?

The phone is for business use. I need mail, contacts and calendar. All of the other apps and toys are great but not what I want/need out of the phone.

I'd appreciate any ideas...
