Multi Windows not working

I just flashed my 2nd rom, just learning. Well the two roms that I flashed had multi Windows they worked fine at first, but now whenever I try to use it the side bar comes up,but when I hit a app it uses the whole screen. Any ideas of what happened any help will be appreciated.
