Music controls in notification bar problem

When I pause a song, the notification goes away, not allowing me to resume playback unless I completely switch back to the music app. Is this happening to everyone else?

I do, but I love being able to drag down the notification bar instead of having to exit what I was doing to go back to my launcher.

Pausing is the equivalent of stopping it on our phones. Luckily we have the recent apps button to get back to it quickly

Something I noticed is when you play a youtube video while music is playing, the music will pause leaving the music controls in the notification bar. Just pull the bar down from anywhere and press play. Why it doesn't stay there when you pause it manually is baffling.

I've also noticed that when music is playing, you can't kill the app in the notification bar by swiping left/right. Or can you only kill something from the recent apps tab?
