Music no longer playing?

Please help! I have had my Moto Droid for about 2 weeks now. Last night I was listening to my music using the MixZing app. Working fine then went to replay a song and got a message "Sorry, this player does not support this type of audio file". I ended up deleting that app and just using the already installed Music program. Seemed to work. Listened to more this am then a few hours later noticed that my phone was no longer ringing! Saw that all the ringtones I assigned were no longer attached to the people. Went to the music player (default as above) and now THAT player is saying the same message! All my files worked hours ago, all are in supported formats. What the heck? I am so frustrated...any thoughts?

Thanks from a newbie! Heather

I just recently had my working music player automatically removed without my permission and replaced with the new Google music player which does not play the music stored in my phone. So there, beat that!:icon_ banana:
