My 3 negatives about Droid Pro

I have used Droid Pro since December of 2010, having switched from Motorola Q (which lasted me 3+ years). I do mostly emails and, obviously, phone calls and somewhat limited web browsing, with an occasional picture here and there.

I found the following 3 things to be utterly annoying:
1. Holding the phone between my cheek and my shoulder - nobody can hear a word of what I am saying. It needs to be held up properly. This is a mystery to me, considering that position of my mouth to microphone does not change that much!

2. Ability to lock the phone on startup. I do not care if it locks every 1 minute or every 20. That is an annoyance. But I want to make sure that if someone makes it away with my phone and does not charge it on time, it is dead to them. It would be nice to have an iPhone-like feature of remote locking - but, hey, that's dreaming.

3. I have multiple email addresses (a few POP/IMAP, and a few Exchange). The icons are all the same - and I cannot change them. WHY?

I am not sure there are answers to either - I have looked around the Web a bit, and could not come up with them.

What would you change in your Droid Pro? I am hoping Motorola/Verizon are listening....

Remote wipe is not there as far as I know (but I could be wrong)

I do not have the problem with audio, however, it was much improved by the 2.2 update from a couple of months ago. Might be a bad mike...

As far as the email icons, yes, they are annoying. I've gotten used to it, but coming from bberry, it took a bit of time.

Or wavesecure. I think remote wiping can be done but you need to be connected to a exchange server, or you could use wavesecure to lock it

If you have a password enabled it should go to that first at startup, mine does.

Have you tried Turing voice privacy off to help with your calls??

LookOut app (in the Market) has the remote lock feature that you are looking for. The app has a paid version that will allow you to lock, wipe and locate your phone if it is lost or stolen. There are a couple of other apps in the Market with similar functions.

I have the same mic issue. The solution is to make sure your palm is cupping the bottom edge of the phone - it's as though the mic is angled backwards. I actually had the exact same problem with my BB Tour and was quite disappointed to see the Droid Pro give me the same issue.

Launcher pro allows you to customize any icon.

Im guessing you use your left shoulder to hold the phone? No idea if this is true, but someone pointed out a tiny little opening in the battery door above the volume keys and suggested that is a noise-cancelling mic. If its tucked under your neck/shoulder I guess it would affect call quality.

Mic update

With regards to the Mic issue...

I unchecked the "Enhanced Voice Privacy" or whatever the setting is - and the issue still persists.

Interestingly - I tried putting a small piece of scotch over the little opening that was mentioned in the post before - right above the volume buttons. That seems to have helped a bit. Maybe I am dreaming it up, though. But still not enough to call it acceptable sound quality.... And, to through another matter into the mix, until 2 days ago, I used to have the BodyGlove around the phone (it broke off). The issue persisted one way or another, with or without the case.

It is the left shoulder. Things seem to sound better with the right one (though, it just does not work for me - I am a left-shoulder kind).
